Have A Very Hockey Halloween

It’s that time of year again, when children and families head out to the pumpkin patch or to grocery store bins to hunt for their own Great Pumpkin. While the ghoulish gourds come in a variety of colours, shapes and sizes, their true beauty is in the eye of whomever is doing the picking — kind of like Charlie Brown’s Christmas tree.

After the big hunt comes the really fun part: artfully decorating your prized pick. And nowadays, the options are endless. Do you create a glamorous gourd with paint, sequins and glitter? Or perhaps, carve a scary or funny Jack-O-Lantern?
For all you hockey fans out there, a hockey pumpkin is a spooktacular way to pay homage to your favourite sport. Whether it’s a hair-raising goalie mask, your favourite team logo or even the Stanley Cup, there’s no end to the design fun you can have with this roly-poly canvas.
Wow your friends with an original work or try one of these free downloadable pumpkin carving patterns — each of which are sure to give a whole new meaning to the term ‘face-off.’ With these designs, you’ll be the Picasso of pumpkin carvers on your street. Simply print off your desired design, tack it to your pumpkin and trace the outline with little pin pokes and begin the carving!

Send a photo of your finished pumpkin to editor@onemillionskates.com by October 29 and it could be featured on our site!

Ready, set, carve!
